An event was organized for the students and faculty members of Al-Qadir to express solidarity with the Kashmiris on 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲. A number of activities were planned for the event starting with a presentation for the students and then speeches by the students. The speeches highlighted the geo-political significance of Kashmir and historical evidence of 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧.
The speeches further expressed how unfortunate it is that after over 7 decades, the nation expresses solidarity with the Kashmiris only to witness further rise in atrocities committed against the oppressed Kashmiri people.
The event concluded with the Dean’s message which discussed 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. These instances and the response of the Prophet(saw) give us valuable insight on how to channel our own responses today.
