Firas Al-Khateeb is the best-selling author of “Lost Islamic History” which is an intricately woven narrative of 1400 years of Islamic heritage across five continents.

Firas Alkhateeb is the author of the bestselling book ‘Lost Islamic History: Reclaiming Muslim Civilization from the Past’.This is a highly popular book about the rich Islamic heritage, written for High School-aged readers.The book condenses the rich Islamic history spanning over more than 1400 years into a succinct narrative. It covers the story of Islam in five continents and includes the story of the not-so-well-known but socially, politically or spiritually influential figures from distant and obscure empires and lands of Islam. It is recommended by the Prime Minister Imran Khan for the country’s youth.

With a specialization in the History of Islamic Civilization, and a passion to impart that knowledge, Firas- Al-Khateeb teaches in the Humanities Department of the prestigious University of Chicago. He’s also a faculty member at Darul Qasim, one of the finest schools of classical Islamic learning in Chicago and Islamic Essentials Online. He has also taught Islamic History at Universal School, Bridgeview, Illinois – one of the best Islamic schools in Chicago.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations with a focus on the Ottoman Intellectual History and Islamic Legal Theory. He earned his MA in Islamic Intellectual History from the prestigious University of Chicago in Middle Eastern Studies, and his BA in History from the University of Illinois, Chicago. His areas of interests also include Islamic Intellectual History, Western Civilization and Comparative Philosophy.
