Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq earned his PhD and MPhil Qura’an and Sunnah from the Karachi University and Masters in Islamiyat from the University of Sargodha, While Bachelors in Humanities from the University of Karachi. He also acquired a degree in Traditional Sciences i.e., Shahadat ul Aalimiyya and He has also acquired two specializations i.e.; in Islamic jurisprudence, and Halaal Jurisprudence. Furthermore, he holds diplomas in English and Arabic Languages.
His PhD dissertation deals with the problems and solutions of Family Businesses in the context of Islamic Shri’ah. He has published more than twelve articles in HEC recognized and international research journals. He has also supervised and consulted ten MPhil dissertations. As well as he participated in several conferences and presented his research papers, e.g., International Quran Conference, International Seerah Conference and National conference on “Emerging Trends in Social Sciences”
Furthermore, he is a prolific writer who has written six books, out of which three have been published, namely; “Business Ethics”, “Magazine Journalism” and “Tadrees-e-Qura’an”. Since, six years he has been frequently contributing to local newspapers as a columnist on social issues.
