The first two-day International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference, held at Al-Qadir University Project Trust, research papers on a wide-ranging spectrum of topics were presented by national and international Islamic scholars. Participants from the United Kingdom, Maldives and Egypt joined the conference online and presented their research work.
Three parallel sessions were conducted where Islamic scholars and researchers presented their research work on different topics including 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐡, 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨-𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬. Viable solutions of aforementioned issues were presented in relation to Seerah of Holy Prophet PBUH.
The scholars of diverse disciplines delivered very thought-provoking speeches on different aspects of Seerah including national defence policy and political stability of an Islamic State. To add more flavour, unique aspects such as the rights of domestic labour from the perspective of Seerah and the oft covered yet never exhausted topic of tarbiyah of the offspring, were also discussed.
The range of topics covered in the conference spoke volumes about the deep, untapped ocean of knowledge which can be extracted from the life and times of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Besides the participants of the Conference, students of Al-Qadir University Project Trust (AQUPT) also greatly benefitted from the insightful discussions of scholars and researchers. Furthermore, they got a chance to interact and ask pertinent questions from eminent Islamic scholars.
We are humbled at the overwhelming response, received from our participants and the variety of articles presented at the conference. We believe that the fervour to engage in academic research on the Seerah will attract more participants in the coming years.
