A four-day workshop on 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 was organized as part of Al-Qadir’s External Programs. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐈𝐪𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐚, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 at Al-Qadir spearheaded the workshop and was joined by the maestros in the field of Organization Management and Educational Leadership; 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭.
The workshop was organized for the higher management and faculty including the Provost, Rector and Dean of University of Central Punjab. The instructors highlighted the importance of reforming existing pedagogical practices. They proposed a shift towards ‘Participant-Centered Learning’, a teaching practice which increases student engagement, raises students’ motivation levels and helps them take ownership of the learning process. Participant-Centered Learning encourages a shift from rote learning to developing critical thinking and life-long learning skills.
